Listen to the gentle sound of the waterfall. Relax on a bench. Pack a picnic or bring a bag lunch.
Free and open to the public, come out and enjoy the serenity of the Butterfly Garden.

Christmas Sale Workshop

Christmas will be here before you know it, and so will our Christmas Sale. We are in need of willing hands, novel ideas, and interesting materials. Come for an hour or stay all day. There is always something to do at every skill level. AND we can offer good fun, talented companions and, of course, delicious snacks.
Annual Plant Auction
When: 11:00 am During Regular Monthly Meeting
Where: Greensburg Garden Center

Our September membership meeting will include the yearly plant auction. Our members contribute plants from their own beautiful gardens to share with other gardeners. A silent auction is held during the regular monthly meeting which is open to guests. After bids are placed, a 'spoken' price-bid auction will take place. The highest bidder takes home a lovely new addition for their garden.

Join us for a day trip to the beautiful Pittsburgh Botanical Garden located at Settler's Cabin Park in Collier Township. The garden spans a total of 452 acres, making it among the top 10 largest American botanical gardens. The Pittsburgh Botanical Garden was founded in 1988 by horticulturists who envisioned a world-class outdoor garden for the Pittsburgh area.
We will be traveling by bus from the Greensburg Garden Center departing at 9:30 a.m.
Cost includes bus fare, garden admission fee and lunch at the Botanical Garden's 'Canopy Cafe'. The PGH Botanical Garden Shop offers local goods, merchandise and native plants.

Our annual 'Meeting Out' will be held at the Greensburg Country Club.
The monthly meeting will be held at 11 a.m. followed by a delicious lunch at 1 p.m. featuring door-prizes and raffles.
At 2 p.m. Andy Amrhein from KDKA/Pittsburgh Live Today will be our guest speaker.
Non-members are welcome to attend.

"Punch Up Your Holiday" Party

GGC sponsors a variety of events and fundraiser throughout the year. Bus Trips, Garden Tours, Flower Shows, a Spring Tea, Christmas Greens Sale, Christmas Showcase Home and of course the wonderful Butterfly Release in August.

The annual SPRING TEA is a wonderful event open to the public. Treat yourself, your friends and family to a wonderful Tea party featuring beautifully decorated tables, delicious tea sandwiches, cookies and cakes. A wide range of Gift Baskets are raffled off during the event. Tickets to the tea and for the basket raffle may be purchased at our office.
May Mart Plant Sale

The annual MAY MART plant sale is a huge fundraiser for GGC. A wide array of plants are available at a very reasonable price! Pre-order is available, or join us at the Garden Center on the day of the sale to choose your own flowers and plants from a huge selection of gorgeous garden plants.

The annual PIE SALE is another favorite fundraiser for GGC. Delicious frozen pies in a variety of fabulous flavors are available to purchase. A delivery date is set for pie pickup. Pies are fun and easy to bake making for a delicious dessert for party's and dinners.
Magical Magnificent Monarchs Butterfly Release

The beautiful Monarch butterfly is widely considered the “king” of all butterflies.
Treat yourself and your family to the breath-taking sight of butterflies taking flight at our annual Butterfly Release event.!
To reserve your Monarch Butterfly, call the Garden Center office. Choose a release time to attend; either 11 A.M. or 1 P.M.
The Monarchs are provided free compliments of the Second Chance Fund, but we do ask for a reservation fee, refunded when you pick up your butterfly, to insure that everyone gets a butterfly.
The release will take place in the beautiful LeFevre Butterfly Garden located at the bottom of the parking lot behind the main Garden Center building. The colorful flowers there will entice the released Monarchs to stay and take a sip of nectar.

The Flower Show also has demonstrations and seminars to inspire and educate gardeners.
Once a year either a group of houses, buildings or churches are decorated by local florists/designers and we take a self paced tour. So much fun for all!
Join us for our hands-on design workshop. Have fun learning to design a flower arrangement, a bird bath, cement leaves or Hypertufa pots. Make new friends at the same time.
